Our Services and Approach
IMR provides expert financial planning services. A financial plan looks at your current financial and personal situation, and your future goals, and helps you develop a plan to get from here to there. To do so, we look at savings, retirement spending, retirement age some tax planning ideas, estate planning concepts, as well as examining other factors which may be relevant to you.
A financial plan is not designed to replace the expertise of an accountant or estate lawyer, but rather to help you ensure that all the specialized components of your financial life are supporting each other and designed to best help you achieve your goals. Think of your financial planner as the general contractor for the construction of your financial future.
Our Approch
- Our first discussion is an Introductory Consultation where we will talk about your situation, provide a quote, and tell you more about the process. If you wish to proceed, we will send you a questionnaire, engagement agreement, and request for supplementary documentation.

The Discovery Meeting happens once you have agreed to the engagement agreement and returned the planning questionnaire. This is when we discuss your financial life in depth, we ask relevant questions, and finally ensure we understand all the relevant questions and concerns to be addressed in the plan.

In the Plan Presentation, we walk you through your financial plan and discuss key takeaways, decision points, and your action plan. Based on the results of the plan, it may be helpful to alter some assumptions (such as when we find out there is extra money available to spend in retirement) so we may meet more than once to cover everything. Plans will typically cost between $3,000 and $5,000, depending on complexity. Especially complex plans may be subject to a special quote. The planning process typically involves at least three meetings.

Plan Updates A financial plan is meant to be updated on a semi-regular basis, typically every three-to-five years, or when there is a material change in circumstances. These updates can be provided by IMR at a significantly reduced cost, depending on the extent of the changes required.
